Loving Your Pet
Do you have a pet? Then you know the joy they can bring. But when they get sick….., oh boy! Our pets cannot talk to us. When there is something wrong they show it in their actions. Our furry friends will upchuck if something they have eaten irritates them. Or they are quiet and not as playful as they were the day before. They cannot say, I have a sore throat, a headache, or I cannot urinate. The entire experience can be a real ordeal. It will stress you out to the max. So I will tell you how I became stress free again so you can be too, with your pet.
This is what happened to me. My cat could not urinate. He would try when he went to the litter box but very little would come out, then he licked his private area. I could see his muscles moving. He was straining so hard. All the while this was happening he was hiding underneath the bed and furniture. Then nothing came out. He was not able to urinate or defecate (poop) at all. It was like he would get the sensation to go to the bathroom but nothing would come out. The longer this went on he was becoming blotted and stopped eating and drinking water. He would not get into his carrier. Everytime I tried to touch him to put him in, he would bite at me, or bite me. I tried everything. Putting a towel over him, watching Youtube videos for help. Nothing worked. And my cat is smart. I can’t pull the wool over his eyes. If you have ever gone through this, or a similar experience, you can relate.
So he had to get sick enough for me to put him in his carrier and take him to the vet. I took him to the 24-hour hospital emergency room who admitted him right away. He had crystals that had formed in his private parts and they were preventing him from going to the bathroom. I would think it is similar to kidney stones in humans. Oh my, I can just imagine how painful that must have been for him. The infection had gone into his bloodstream (similar to septicemia in humans). It was really bad. He was in critical condition. He stayed two and a half days. I was informed his heart wall is thick, which is equivalent to heart disease in humans, and he has to be checked every six months. During his stay I was updated daily, received pictures and could call the hospital anytime I wanted (and did so).
He is fine now. I was able to breathe and relax with the post care I received from Chewy. My little friend was sent home with two medications I had to give him every 8 hours until gone, and special food. I mean who would have believed it. The type of attention and kindness I received from this pet supplies store was just great. I had such trepidation but the customer service representatives took a real interest in my cat and answered all my questions. I visited Chewy's website and loved all the products they had for my pet like toys and cat trees. To follow a bad experience (my sick cat) up with bad service would have been insult to injury. This was not the case with Chewy. The representative took great care in speaking with me. When I created an account for myself, I listed information about my pet as well. I bought his prescribed special food that he will have to be on for the rest of his life from Chewy’s veterinarian diet pet food section, and his litter. Since he has to take the food as long as he lives I am using autoship so I can schedule how much and how often it comes. I was very pleased with the service and they were cheaper than my favorite store, plus they have gift cards. The ordering was easy and the delivery was fast. As a matter-of-fact, the food came one day earlier than the delivery date. Chewy has a veterinarian available to answer your questions from 8:00am-8pm EST and offers compund medications in their pet pharmacy. The specialists at Chewy can mix drugs together that are specifically designed for your pet's needs. Chewy offers products for other animals as well, like horses and reptiles. I know there are other pet stores out there. But Chewy made me feel so comfortable and gave me such peace of mind, they got my business.
I tell you discovering Chewy.com has been the best thing. If you are a pet parent, Chewy will make your life so much easier. They will truly take the animal-care stress out of your life.

ReplyDeletePets can't do much to take care of their health on their own. If they frequently spend time outdoors, they can chew a bit of grass when they're feeling nauseous or seek other medicinal plants. However, once they're indoors, their care of their own health is limited to things like drinking water, exercising, and taking steps to manage their mental health.
ReplyDeletePet parents can do a lot to help their pets maintain good health. Once they get into the habit, it can seem as easy as 1, 2, 3.
