Amway Put Me On The Clock
It is no secret I love Amway projects. I became a distributor in the mid 1990s. I just buy for myself. I don't have meetings and I do not recruit anyone. Therefore I do not have anyone under me, and that is fine with me. The last thing I want to do is push Amway down someone's throat, or invite him/her to my house only to have the visit turn into an impromptu Amway meeting. That type of behavor does nothing but leave a bad taste in the person's mouth because they feel coerced or bamboozled, like they were tricked into doing something under false pretenses.
You see, I was brought into the business by some very pushy distributors, but I liked the products more than I liked the situation I was in, and I thought there had to be a better way, and as it turned out
there was.
When I first started I was selling at a really nice clip, my mother who was also a disributor, gave me her customers and things were going well. One time I got to 99 points in a month but because I did not have 100 points, I did not get the bonus (every product has points attached to it, so if you don't get 100 points every month you cannot benefit from the 100 points your downline has gotten for the month).
Nevertheless, I enjoyed Amway and the eternal hope I had in my mind that I was going to sell product to a corporation one day, and the company would purchase enough product to make me a very wealthy person. You see that is what companies like Amway offer...hope. That anything can be done. It is NOT out of the realm of possibility that a person could sell to someone who'll stock their companies' shelves with Amway products, or a farmer that buys Nutriplant fertilizer for his/her farm on repeat (ditto) order.
I have read the stories and watched Youtube videos stating Amway is a scam, and has ruined people's lives. But if you don't have meetings, or recruit anyone, you are not putting yourself in a situation to be perceived as being taken advatage of. Each Amway distributor runs their business the way they choose to. Unfortunately Amway has garnered its negative reputation from the bad behaviour of some of its distributors. The key is to
ask questions directly of the Amway corporation, and you won't go wrong.
One day, to my suprise, I received an email from Amway in January of this year 2025 saying I was "On The Clock". If I did not have sales by the end of April 2025, my business would be deactivated and my check I paid to become an IBO, would be refunded to me. I was stunned, shocked, I don't remember going through this in the late 1990s after I joined, the early 2000s or even 10 years ago. This has to be a new process. So....I am on the clock and it is ticking.....So what do I do now? I want to SAVE my business. I like the products. As I stated I don't have meetings or recruit anyone, so why can't I just be left alone????? Because Amway is a business, a large corporation that needs sales, and if you are not making money (sales) than you have to go. And I understand that. I don't blame Amway. I don't like the situation Amway has put me in. But I believe the email was sent to MAKE ME get off my behind and make my business work for profit. If I REALLY believe in the hope that Amway offers to their distributors, that anyone can be a wealthy person, than this is my opportunity to hussle and make the sales quota necessary to keep my business. Now mind you, it would be easy for me to take the negative approach and say why try...no one is going to buy the products anyway, Amway has such a negative reputation, everytime I mention that I sell Amway all I hear is Amway is a cult, Amway is a scam, I am not interested....OR I coud put forth the effort, buy a product I like, explain the situation I am in, pass out samples and ask people to help me. And that is EXACTLY what I did.

I bought a box of the flavor-your-water Twist Tubes (delicious) and passed them out to my neighbors, explaining verbally and in a follow-up email:
"I have been an Amway distributor since the mid-1990s. I just buy for myself.
I don't have meetings or anyone under me (I don't recruit).I believe people should make their own decisions. Because I don't have meetings or recruit, my sales are not what they should be. Therefore, I need sales by the end of April 2025 or my business will be deactivated. I know there is not much time, but I was hoping I would receive a sale by now with all of my efforts. I want to keep my business going, not only because I like the products, but for those individuals who don’t want to go to meetings or be encouraged to become a business owner, just buy with no strings attached. Go to my site StressFreeU2, scroll down to the "Gift Is What You Make It" image, click it and Register As A Customer. I highly recommend the flavor-your water Twist Tubes variety pack. Watch my video on the products here. I have attached Amway's Fall catalog for your review."
So when I called Amway to get an explanation of the "On The Clock" process I was told I only needed three (3) orders to stop the clock. When a person ordered, I sent him/her a thank you email stating the following:
THANK YOU. This is a
victory for all those who like Amway products but don't want to go to meetings
or be recruited as distributors. 😊👏
I was also told by another Amway representative I could create a receipt for the products I bought myself (in my inventory), for one of my customers, and not print the receipt. This would move the green process bar, bringing me closer to my target percentage, which I did not know. I was so happy. I learned something.
All I had to do was TRY, and I believe that was the purpose of the "On The Clock" email. Now it DID take me out of my comfort zone. I am not going to lie. It was difficult...My whole thing with Amway is not to push it down anybody's throat, because I don't want to hear the lecture of how its a pyramid scheme, scam, and I am not going to make any money at it, not to mention making people uneasy. My thinking is, if you like the products, then you will buy the products. Although they are a little on the pricey side, you pay for quality. If you want the best for yourself, paying more will not matter. I have heard people say, "I don't like Amway's branding, founder, etc. If the products help you, but you won't buy something that helps you, what sense does that make? Say for example, your doctor tells you, you have an illness with 6 months to live, and companies like Amway have products like magnesium or iron vitamins that make you feel better, but because you believe what others say about Amway eventhough you have not had a negative experience yourself, you don't buy the products. Therefore you become sicker and die just like your doctor said you would, to me...that is stupid. If you don't know the backstory behind someone's negative experience with Amway (what transpired between both parties), then why let someone's bad involvement stop you from experiencing something that could really help you physically?
I believe this "On The Clock" process I am going through has been worth it. It pushed me to achieve my goal. By thinking outside the box, my business is kept available for individuals who don't want to go to meetings or be recruited/encouraged to be independent business owners, just buy products with no strings attached.
